Danny S. Pappas

Danny PappasAge 90, passed away November 23, 2021.  He was born May 15, 1931, in Florina, Macedonia, coming to the U.S.A. at a young age to work in a family restaurant.  He retired 45 years later.  Danny was a loyal Detroit Lions and Tigers fan, witnessing Mickey Lolich hit a homerun in the 1968 World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.  He was a hard working and generous man who will be missed by his family!

Danny was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Marie and son, Christopher, and sister, Stoyna Papadopoulos.  Surviving are:  children, Sandra (Dennis) O’Connor, Cindy (Ricky) Norris, Julie Dilley, and Dan (Jennifer) Pappas; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Erin, Anna, Eric and Gunner; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, James Papas and Bill (Sophie) Papadopoulos.  His family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff at Regency at Lansing West for the care that made his time feel like a home with family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 29, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lansing.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels or Greater Lansing Food Bank.  Online condolences may be left for his family at. www.EstesLeadley.com.

My condolences to the entire Pappas family. Fond memories of your mom and dad at Holy Cross then St Mary’s masses. You dad always had a gleam in his eye.
Losing a parent is so hard but he is now reunited with your mother. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of your loss of your your Dad. Knew him for almost 60 years and your Mom even longer. they were good people and loved the great family they raised. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Pat (He is probably getting the soup on in Heaven)
