D’Ann Oden

Age 65, passed away June 10, 2021.  She was born March 3, 1956, in Lansing, MI to James Oden and Faith (Duling) Oden.

D’Ann began kindergarten in Lansing and graduated from Potterville High School class of 74’. From there on, she ventured out to Hawaii and Alaska all on her own. She returned back home to Lansing, MI in 1978 and attend classes at Lansing Community College for interior decorating and home making.

Her working career included being a certified nursing assistant, in-home senior & child care specialist, and a pharmacy & retail sales clerk. She found her passion in interior decorating and that being home maker brought her happiness.

Her hobbies included reading Nora Jones novels, doing a variety style of paintings, and solving puzzles long into her twilight hours.

She had a soft fondness for dogs, but her most beloved pet and longtime companion of over a decade, was “Lilly,” a beautiful White-German Shepherd.

She enjoyed traveling the world to take on new adventures, visiting family & friends, and seeing places both old & new.

She was a survivor from multiple substantial life situations, from early  in her childhood on into adulthood and always made the best out of what she had.

She found tranquility in observing thunderstorms and listening to the crashing waves along the Emerald Coast.

She loved God, Jesus, and her country; she was a proud & joyous member of Hope Worship Center Church in Ashland City, Tennessee.

She was a wonderful mother, mimi, sister, aunt, and friend to all; she was the most amazing cook in kitchen you’d ever known.

She had a warm smile, kind eyes, and loving heart that accepted and cared for everyone as they are and would often at times put others before herself.

She loved her grandchildren and showered them with love, banana muffins, and small gifts.

D ’Ann is survived by her brother: Rick Oden, son: Joshua Sadler: grandchildren: Logan, Landon, and Lucas Sadler.

D’ann and I meet over 40 years ago while I was working at the Green Door. She would come in and drink coffee. And she loved her coffee. One of her gifts from God was interior design. When I bought my house she came over and decorated and many family and friends commented on great the house looked. She always told me before I left I love you girl. I remember going to Tennessee to visit her see several times and all the places she would show me. We would eat laugh and stay up to the wee hours of the morning. Her homes whether on Waverly road in Lansing Michigan or in Tennessee were wonderfully decorated. She loved watching western shows. I love you girl and will miss you. Thanks for being my friend
