Dan Clifton DuBois

Age 75, of Lansing, passed away October 29, 2012. He was born April 23, 1937, in Lakeview, MI, to Clifton and Deloris DuBois.

Dan was a 1955 graduate of Lansing Everett High School, and was a member of the Greater Lansing Area Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the ‘54 Everett undefeated football team. He was the former owner and operator of D&L Heating and Cooling. He followed MSU football and hockey, was a NASCAR fan, and had a lifelong passion for outdoor sports and activities that led to many lasting friendships along the way. He especially enjoyed hunting and boating on Indian River and Burt Lake with friends and family. Dan was also an avid softball player who spent many years playing competitively in the Lansing area.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan; children, Andrea (William) Stephan of DeWitt Twp., Dan (Erin) DuBois, Jr. of Jackson; 8 grandchildren, R.J., Jenna, Katy, Danielle, Lily, Zachary, Chloé and Rylie; brother, Robert E. (Lucy) DuBois; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Julie DuBois.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with the Rev. Edward Ross officiating. Interment will take place later that day (3:00 p.m.) in Lakeview Cemetery (Lakeview, MI). The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
