Constance Jean Johnson

Age 96, of Conover, North Carolina, formerly of East Lansing, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord, and many beloved family members on September 24, 2023. She was born June 18, 1927 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Lyle and Ida (Drum) Brooks.

Constance was devoted member of Towar Hart Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed volunteering.  She  had worked as a nursing assistant and a house keeper at Ingham Medical Center. She was a resident at Edgewood Village Apartments on Towar Garden Circle in East Lansing before moving to North Carolina.

Constance was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur “A.J” Johnson, daughters: Sharon Osborn, and Shirley Smith, granddaughter Nicole Taylor, as well as many other beloved family members.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra, husband Bobby Love, and son Gregory Hammond; grandchildren Shane Brown. Frank Brown, Fred Ritchey, Troy Ritchey, Monica Prince, Leslie Osborn, Renae Blankenship, William Wood, and Mindy Tomlinson.

The funeral for Constance will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2023 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St, Lansing, MI 48933. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. There will be a visitation for family and friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association.
