Christopher D. Browers

Age 54, of St. Johns, MI, passed away June 26, 2026. He was born April 4, 1972, in Lansing, MI.

Chris graduated from Portland High School in 1990 and attended Lansing Community College. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a longtime volunteer firefighter for the city of Portland. For many years, he worked for various manufacturing companies.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, R.C. cars, and fireworks.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Browers; children, Andrew (Sky) Browers, Jacqueline Benda, Alyssa (TJ) Schnitzhofer, Madelyn Pitchford, Emily Esch, and Trenton Sherwood; his father; brother, Brian (Brenda) Browers; sister, Michelle Sober; nephew, Wyatt Browers; nephew, Joe (Emily) Sober and their children Adalyn and Jackson; niece, Shelby Sober; many aunts, uncles and cousins; special, longtime friend, Jayson Stowell; and his beloved dog, Micah. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Logel) Browers, and his grandparents, J. Louis and Marian Logel.

A celebration of Chris’s life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Epic Community Church, 1455 E. Grand River Ave., Portland, MI 48875.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – Michigan Chapter (Out of the Darkness Walks) personal fundraiser for Chris. The walk will be held on September 19, 2026, at Hawk Island County Park, Lansing. Click here for more information.
