Cheryl A. Bolt

She passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Dec 29,2020 at the age of 72 from the ravages of brain cancer.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

She worked many years raising her children and once they were grown, she became a graduate of Lansing Community College and worked as a home health aide to several clients. She loved and adored her children and grandchildren, where nothing was ever too good for them.  She was an ardent MSU fan and just could never say “Go Blue” when around her U of M sports friends.  She lived life to the fullest, always competitive whether she was playing cards, tennis, volleyball, softball, or pickleball.  She loved getting together with friends and family in Lansing, at the cottage in Holland, MI or in Ft Myers, Fl during the winter.  She tutored special needs students at her church for over twenty years.  She lived the words of 1 Peter 3:4 “You should clothe yourself instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.”  She loved and was loved and admired by so many and her death will be mourned for many years by many people.

She was pre-deceased by her parents and brother Ronald.

She will be mourned by her husband of 51 years, Tom, daughters Kelly Bolt, Robin (Chris) Trumble, Jamie (Eric) Capps, sister Kathy (Todd) VerHage, brothers Reginald (Lanai) Howard and Randy (Sandy) Howard, stepbrothers and sisters Janet (Jerry) Licari, Joan (Richard – Deceased) Runnels, Carol (Terry) Larson, Bob (Amy) Rinck, David (Sue) Rinck,  grandchildren Olivia, Darynn, Josie, ,Drew, Tenaya, Isaac, Jackson, Brady, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will greet visitors on Saturday, Jan 9, 2021 from 12 – 3 pm at Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy can be sent to the Friendship Program at River Terrace Church, 1509 River Terrace Dr, East Lansing, MI 48823.

Robin, Jamie, Kelly and Tom,

We were so saddened to read about Cheryls cancer and passing. She was wonderful sports parent. So positive and encouraging with a competitive spirit. We were always so inspired with her love for athletics, and although we haven’t seen her in many years, we remember her fondly. Peace be with all of you.

Thanks for your remembrances of Cher. She always enjoyed training with our kids. We always enjoyed our kids playing volleyball with you. After 8 years of watching, I knew all the rules (hah), and after extensive training spent 15 years as a VB ref. Enjoyed most of my time on court.
