Charlotte (Hein) Kelbert

Lansing

Born April 18, 1929, in Germany, daughter of the late Julius and Emma Hein was called to her Heavenly home Friday, November 3, 2017, at age 88.

Charlotte moved from Germany to the U.S. in 1954.  She was a longtime member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansing and loved cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Charlotte was a great homemaker and a loving wife to husband of 66 years, Ewald Kelbert; a wonderful mother to children, Ingrid (Peter) Shurn, Hartmut E. Kelbert, Doris (Randy) Stine, and Randy (Debi) Kelbert; a doting grandmother to, Heather Steel, Chris Stine, Alicia Schmidt, Amanda Dixon, and Alexis Kelbert as well as to great-grandchildren, Audrey, Eli, Malachi, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jay, and Daniel.  Charlotte is also survived by brothers Helmut and Hartmut Hein.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Kelbert; and her sister, Elizabeth Marek.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m., and also one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in memory of Charlotte, to Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansing.

Charlotte was a kind and loving lady who gave of herself, loved always and most special to my family and me.
