Charlotte Carr Roe

Charlotte passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at age 89.  She was of Juno Beach, FL and Lansing, MI. Char was born March 23, 1923 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Earl Ingram Carr, MD and Ruth Smith Carr.  She served her community in many ways including:  Junior League of Lansing, President and Member; Junior League Endowment Fund, Trustee; Junior League of the Palm Beaches, Inter-league Member; American Cancer Society, Ingham County Unit, Board Member; Edward W. Sparrow Hospital Guild, President and Member; Kalamazoo College Women’s Council, Member; United Community Chest of Lansing, Woman’s Division Charter Chair; Family Service Agency, President and Member; National Foundation, Ingham County Chapter, Board Member; Lansing Women’s Symphony Association, Charter Member; and Plymouth Congregational Church.  She also served with Interlochen Center for the Arts, Trustee; Michigan Council for the Arts, Member; Michigan Foundation for the Arts, Trustee; Metropolitan Lansing Fine Arts Council, Charter President and Member; Lansing Fine Arts Coordinating Committee, Chair; and Michigan Artrain.  Char was a member of the Country Club of Lansing and the Tequesta Country Club, Tequesta, FL.

Survivors include her son Woody, daughter-in-law Shelly, and granddaughters Alexandra and Jackson of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.  Char was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years J. Woodward Roe “Woody” and daughter Linda.

A memorial service is planned for 4:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2012 in the auditorium at The Waterford, 601 Universe Blvd., Juno Beach, FL, with a family burial in Lansing, MI at a later date.
