On behalf of myself and Ladies Silver Blades of the Lansing Area we are deeply sorry for the passing of Charlene. She really enjoyed her skating and was a long time member of Sliver Blades. I enjoyed talking to her and working with her in the ice shows her last few years she skated. She enjoyed coaching our Special Olympic members and telling about it.

My deepest sympathies on Charlene’s passing. She was my first learn to skate coach at Lansing Ice Arena. She was very encouraging to all,and always enjoyed teaching and learning. She was understandably proud of her accomplishments on the ice, in her career and in her community involvement. She will be missed.

Char, our friend and long-time club member was our coach for Special Olympics for many years. She was aable to get us ready for competing and even was our chaperone for a few years up at Traverse City.
She was fun, down to our level as far as teaching, and a good friend. Shelley and I will miss her.

Charlene was a wonderful friend from Central High School that I enjoyed so much. She was such fun and a great athlete. I’m so sorry to hear of her death. I just tried to find her by Googling today to say hi and ask how she was doing. I remember Janice, her sister very well. If you read this Janice, Hello from Georgia. My husband and I have been here for 28 years, but remember all the wonderful times we had in Flint when we were young.

In my mind, Charlene is still my best friend as she was in elementary and high school. We had so many great times. So sorry to hear of her of her passing. Hello to Janice and LJ.

I was Charlene’s neighbor in Lansing for 15 years. I had no idea she passed until today. Charlene was the BEST neighbor anyone could ever have. She got me into Lansing politics and to speak on camera in front of crowds of people. I hadn’t seen her in three years, but I will miss her forever!
