Age 96, of Lansing, MI, passed away June 22, 2014. She was born August 30, 1917, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Flood.
Cecelia was the oldest living member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Post #3727. She had been a member since 1948. She was very active with the VFW National Home for Children in Eaton Rapids. She volunteered as a lunch aide for the Lansing School District and read to the students at the Michigan School for the Blind in Lansing.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Ron) Ross; grandchildren, Shannon Cole and Fred Cole; great-granddaughter, Lyndsay Cole; very special niece, Lois Middaugh; and many other extended Eskovitz family members. She was preceded in death by her sister Sara Martin and her husband Fred James Eskovitz.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to service time on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society.
