Cassandra Ann (Millis) Foster
Age 60, passed away December 24, 2022. She was born January 19, 1962 in Lansing and was a graduate of Eastern High School. Sandy worked as a home health provider and was one of the most selfless and generous people to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Florida was one of Sandy’s favorite places where she loved watching for manatees and visiting Sea World. She also loved fishing for bluegills, collecting jewelry, and listening to music, especially the song “Jungle Love” and all Beatles music, including her favorite “Hey Jude.” Sandy also loved Oldsmobiles, especially the Cutlass. Most of all, Sandy loved being in the sun, working on her suntan and she loved her grandchildren unconditionally!
Sandy is survived by her son, Matthew (Samantha Suntken) Matney; two grandchildren, Heidi and Hazel Matney; father, Robert (Diane) Millis; brother, Mark (Ann) Millis; brother-in-law, Robert (Pam) Schneiderman; step-brothers, Mike and Joe Dyer; step-sister, Rachel (Jeff) Pavlik; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends, especially the Elbashir family, who loved, supported and became family to Sandy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Foster; mother, Luba Millis; sister, Roberta Schneiderman; and special grandmother, Slavka Evanoff, with whom she was very close.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1701 E. Saginaw St., Lansing, with interment in Oak Plain Cemetery in Shaftsburg. Her family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, where a Trisagion service will take place at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in memory of Cassandra Foster.

December 30, 2022 at 1:59 pmI still remember our cousin Cassandra as the little girl who would visit our home next door along with Roberta and Mark. “Sandy” grew up and moved away, but she always tried to keep in touch with the family over the years. She had a good heart. We will miss her. The Orthodox church uses the term, “Memory Eternal” in its prayers for the departed. Like all of our departed relatives, she has joined them now and will not be forgotten.
