Caroline Bertha Barnard
Age 88, of Lansing, MI, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017. She was born to Meta and William Sendzik on November 28, 1928.
Carol attended Lansing Eastern High School. She worked at the Lansing School Book Deposit where she met her future husband, Fred. They were married on May 27, 1950. She has two daughters, Sandra Barnard Williams (Daniel) of Marshall, MI, and Cynthia Joy Barnard of East Lansing, MI, and her granddaughter, Blair (Matthew) Brindley of Kalamazoo, MI. Carol enjoyed working as a secretary for Senator Anthony Stamm, Kalamazoo, in the Senate, SOM. She also worked for the SOM Health Dept. as well as other departments. Carol had a love of travel, going to estate sales, sewing, gardening, cooking delicious food and golfing.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, MI 48906, with Pastor Paul J. Lindloff officiating. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens, 4108 Old Lansing Rd., Lansing, MI 48917. Visitation will be on Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

July 13, 2017 at 3:25 pmSandra and Cynthia, May the Lord bless and strengthen you in these days of sorrow. We grew up with you at Emanuel, though I was a little bit older. We were in Christmas programs together and Sunday School and VBS. I won’t be able to be with you, but some of my brothers and sisters will be there on Friday. Ken sent a message from Mexico where he is working on an assignment to let me know. Sue is still living in Texas. We pray the Lord will comfort you.
