Carole Jean French

Carole, age 79, passed away September 11, 2023, in Lansing, MI. She was born January 19, 1944, in Lansing, to Alfred and Marie (Tews) French. She was an only child growing up on Lansing’s north side. After graduation from Lansing Eastern High School, she began her 43-year career with the State of Michigan Community Health Department.

Carole enjoyed many hobbies including photography and making handmade Christmas and birthday cards; in addition, she was a published author of her poetry. She loved to travel, even making a solo trip to Europe. Later she enjoyed traveling around the country with her mother in her Uncle Lou’s motorhome.

She is survived by Miliene Tews and many cousins and their families.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Her family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be made to any of Carole’s favorite charities: the Greater Lansing Food Bank; Lansing City Rescue Mission; Toys for Tots; or Disabled American Veterans.
