Brenda J. Smith

Brenda J. Smith (“Grammy”) passed away surrounded by her loved ones on December 22, 2022. She had fought valiantly through several health problems and is now reunited with her loved ones that have gone before.

Survivors include her two daughters, Amy Jo Rivas (Mark), Angela Ayn Martinez, grandchildren, Nicole Jensen, Robert Martinez, Jr., Nicholas Martinez, Alexander Martinez, Brandon Martinez, Christina Martinez; great grandsons, Landon Jensen, Colton Jensen and Gabriel Martinez; her brother, Jack Barnes (Linda), sister-in law Koreen Smith, sister-in-law Linda Dunlap, brother-in-law Dale Smith (Nancy) and sister-in-law Brenda Kyriakou (Tom), many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Joe Smith, father, John Robert Barnes, III, mother, Manie Velma Ennis, sister Bobbie Cornell, brother Bill Barnes and sister Jerri Lynn Barnes.

There will be a visitation/celebration of life in Colorado on December 29, 2022, from 4-7 pm at Horan & McConaty, Aurora, Colorado. Michigan services will be held at Estes-Leadley in Lansing.  Visitation will be on Sunday, January 1, 2023, from 2-4 pm and from 6-8 pm at Estes-Leadley in Lansing, Michigan.  Funeral services will be on Monday, January 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with internment following at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos, Michigan.  Livestream of the funeral in Michigan is available at this link.
