Brenda E. Armitage

Age 71, of Lansing, MI, passed away October 9, 2019, in Lansing. She was born December 22, 1947, in Lansing, MI, to the late Cecil B. and Ruby I. (Whaley) Graves.

Brenda worked for Delta Dental, retiring after 30-plus years of service as a Dental Analyst.  Brenda, to many of us known as “P-Nut,” was a genuine good-hearted woman who thoroughly enjoyed her family, the lake and life only as she could live it.  Her life was full of adventure; never a dull moment as she was always up for whatever the next road lead her to.  From the next golf outing down south, trip to Vegas, NASCAR event, fishing expedition or just enjoying her family time, P-Nut wasted no time fretting over the “Small Stuff.”  She would always say “It’s all Small”, “it’s what you make of it that changes its size.”  Full of wisdom and knowledge that lady was…

In her later years, post retirement, her summers were filled with time at the cottage with family. The winters were waiting for the summer to begin again so she could get back to the lake.  Her love for trinkets, collectables and “stuff” (the cows at the lake) will forever be a memory for those who her knew her well.  She did love her décor and wasn’t necessarily partial to any one style, this meant people too.  She loved everyone and everyone loved her.  Her sweet and kind nature was infectious and will be missed.

Brenda is survived by Bob Armitage, her husband of 52 years; her children: Robert (Kimberly) Armitage, Amber (Brad Roll) Stevens; grandchildren: Cody (Hailee Southwell) Stevens, Ashley Armitage, Kenzie Stevens, and Logan Armitage; great-grandchild, Jaxon Stevens; sister, Patsy (George) Sills; sister-in-law, Pat Graves; she is also survived many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Barney Graves, and a sister Debbie Cullimore.

The funeral service for Brenda will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, as well as one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu flowers memorial donations may be made in memory to Hospice of Lansing, Inc.

In Loving Memory

I thought of you with love today,

But that is nothing new.

I thought about you yesterday,

And days before that too.

I think of you in silence,

I often speak your name.

All I have are memories,

And your picture in a frame.

Your memory’s my keepsake,

With which I’ll never part.

God has you in His keeping,

I have you in my heart.

I am so very sorry to hear of Brenda’s passing. I worked with her at Delta Dental for many years. Gosh she was just a peach; always upbeat, compassionate and dedicated. Brenda spoke often and fondly of her family, it was obvious they were her entire world. Much healing and peace is wished to her loving family.

I am so very sorry to hear of Brenda’s (p-nut) passing. I loved her very much. I did her hair for many years until just recently. She was so much fun and sassy. She talked so much about Bob and her family and loved you all so much. Brenda will be missed! I know that she is in the presence of our Loving Lord that she loved so much. May the Lord strengthen you in your time of heartbreak and mourning. Peace be with you.

So very sorry to hear of Brenda’s passing. I worked with “Peanut” at Delta Dental and shared a few fun times with her after hours as well. I remember fondly her love of country music and cowboy boots. Always with kindness and smile. She will be missed.

P-nut was the most caring person I have ever known. She was always upbeat. I hadn’t seen her in awhile but when I was back in Michigan this August I had a chance to visit her. RIP

Tim (a/k/a Habeeb) and I will miss P-Nut even though I didn’t get to see her much unless I was with Lynn when I visited from Texas. P-Nut… LYMTML as we’d say…. Now go sit on a cloud with Horsie & your Mom and do some fishing for stars…
To her family, I am so sorry for your loss and wish we could be there to give y’all hugs.

Momma, we had a beautiful service for you today and there were tears and laughter. You touched so many people in your life, I am not certain you know just how many. The words of many who came to pay their respects and well wishes were beyond words as well as all of the support for those that couldn’t be there. Although you were not there in body, I felt you there with me, holding my hand through all of it assuring me as always, that everything is gonna be just fine!! You are, were and always will be my blessing, my clarity and my rock. That’s just how powerful your personality and heart were. Your memories will forever be present in my mind and heart. Live well in your after life as you did with your time here. Give Grandpa Cecil, Grandma Ruby, Grandpa Ralph, Grandma Mary, Uncle Barney, Aunt B, Aunt Nell and tell Uncle Jay to keep hiding that chewing tobacco I from Aunt Ruby!!! Love you mostest!!!
