Billy Dean Barnes

Age 76, of DeWitt, passed away November 2, 2010. He was born in Martin, TN on October 3, 1934.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Board of Water and Light. He loved golf and his dog Dixie. He was especially proud of his southern heritage and was strong in his roots.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Velma Barnes. He is survived by his children, Barry Barnes of Las Vegas, NV, Brian Barnes of DeWitt, and Brad Barnes of DeWitt; grandchildren, Brantley and Brennan; brother, Jack (Linda) Barnes of East Lansing; sisters, Bobbie Cornell of DeWitt and Brenda Smith of Aurora, CO; and his longtime companion, Marcia LaFraugh of DeWitt.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with Pastor Royce Allen of Trinity Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens.
