Betty Marie (Moser) Nardo

Age 98, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. She was born on October 2, 1927, in Alberta, Canada, to Earl and Mamie Moser, and grew up in Harbor Springs, Michigan.

In high school, Betty was active in band, school plays, the 4-H Club, and served as captain of the girls’ basketball team as well as secretary-treasurer of her senior class.  After graduating from Cleary College, Betty began her career with the State of Michigan Liquor Control Commission as a bookkeeper. Through mutual friends at work, she met the love of her life, Mike Nardo. They married in 1954 and were best friends and partners in every facet of life, a true love story to the end. Together they built a life centered on their business – The State Vending Company, family, and friends.

She took great joy in being a mother and was involved in her daughters’ lives and activities. She was always ready to listen, encourage, comfort or join them for a shopping trip, lunch date or walk. Betty treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and loved hearing about their lives and accomplishments.  She and Mike enjoyed traveling with friends, flying around the country with the Nomads, and gathering with family at their lake house—some of their happiest memories.

Betty was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be remembered for her sweet, kind, and gentle spirit, and for her remarkable gift with math and numbers—an ability that amazed others throughout her life.

Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Mary Nardo Farris (Rick) of Haslett, Michigan, and Annette Nardo Stravino (Anthony) of Tampa, Florida; her cherished grandchildren, Peter Stravino (Jessica), Michael Stravino, Lauren Farris (Nick Goodman), and Christopher Farris (Kelsey); and her six great-grandchildren, Adeline Stravino, Annabelle Stravino, Maverick Farris, Charlotte Goodman, Malachi Farris, and August Goodman. She is also survived by nieces Cheryl Maslowski, Diane DeBoer, and Janice Huff, and nephew John Abraham Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mamie Moser; her devoted husband, Mike Nardo; her sister, Shirley Barnes; sisters-in-law, Angie Abraham and Anna Marie Nardo; nephew, Steve Barnes; and many dear friends and family.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Canterbury Tower (Tampa, Florida) for their dedicated care, kindness, and love.

Honoring Betty’s wishes, no formal services will be held. The family will gather for a private burial at the cemetery.
