Condolences to the Wilson family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, “heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds.” May God bring you comfort and peace.

I had the pleasure of working with shorty and the wonderful group of ladies at QD on Pleasant Grove. I admired her ability to remember each and every customer by name and preference. I would often look at Shorty in disbelief when she would reach for a couple lottery tickets and a pack of cigarettes before the customer even made up there mind of why they had gone to QD in the first place. She made each and every customers morning by her beautiful smile and infectious laughter, she was a staple in our community and will be deeply missed.

Shorty,
I just talked to you twice last week when you were filling in at the QD on Cedar and Greenlawn! You made my day every Sunday after church when I came in to get something to drink! It was always a pleasure to be around you! I am really going to miss you girl! I just found out about you passing and my heart is just hurt! Thank you for being you and making our days shine! Your smile and humorous attitude was contagious and I am so glad that I had the pleasure of getting to know you! The community you served for all those years will grieve at loosing you, but I’m so glad that I got to get to know you!

I visited QD daily for over 12 years and had lots of conversations with Ms. Shorty.. She always had a smile. We shared stories of raising our children. She watched my children grow up. QD is not going to be the same with out her. It was always a pleasure to visit her. It made my day to see her smiling face.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Wilson family. Betty was a good friend of mine from high school, we use to walk to school together everyday..we were hanging partners. I remember when she had her first daughter. Although we hadnt seen each other in over a year, I am going to miss my best friend. R.I.P Betty….Love You.

can’t find the words..to express the sorrow that we are feeling. From viewing the heartfelt emotions that others in our community have shared it is certainly a known praise for this woman. We addressed Betty as” Shorty” as she asked us to several years ago…after she realized …we were obviously regular…repeat…repetitious..customers..early 6:30 am or 1:58 am. This lady, no matter what time of the day or night, could sense, and know your ” personal” frame of mind..and in a moment.. react in her way… service to you. We have lived past 60 years now and have had shared relationships with friends …..coworkers…and acquaintances…yet “shorty” has, and always will be a phenomenal, empowering, benevolent angel in our lives,,,and we thank her. She always made it look so very simple We have learned from you.

You would always say hello ma’am and at check you would always ask me what was I getting ready to do? You certainly made the world a better place. May God comfort and strengthen your family.
