Betty J. Dush

Age 92, passed away February 2, 2025. She was born December 10, 1932, in Lansing, Michigan. Betty retired after a long career at GM. She and her husband started the Mint City Jamboree and ran it for nearly 20 years; raising over $140,000 for Clinton County Hospice.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George Dush; brothers, Pete and John Smieska, Sr. and 3 other siblings, as well as stepson, David Dush. She is survived by 7 nieces and nephews, Paul (Debbie) Smieska, Dennise (Tom) Buffington, Michael (Wendy) Smieska, Tina (John) Simonson, John Smieska, II, Chuck (Cindy) Smieska, and Ann Nestle; 16 great-nieces and nephews; 33 great-great nieces and nephews; 2 great-great-great nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Billie Dush; 2 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3815 S. Cedar St., Lansing, with the Rite of Committal to follow in Mt. Rest Cemetery in St. Johns. Her family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Dennise Buffington, to be distributed between Betty’s assisted living caregivers and her church. Online condolences may be left for her family at www.EstesLeadlley.com.
