Betty L. (Sawyer) Dumeney Binegar

Age 93, formerly of Lansing, Michigan, passed away February 21, 2022. She was born October 11, 1928, in Martinsville, Indiana, one of 11 children, to the late William and Viola Sawyer.

Betty married Howard Dumeney in 1947, and they had 6 children: Larry, Gary, Michael, Dianne, Mark, and Daniel.

Betty married Dale Binegar in October 1988. During their retirement Dale and Betty spent many wonderful years traveling in their RV seeing the USA and visiting family, but always returned to their Ocala, Florida home for the winter.

Betty is survived by her children: Larry (Marie) Dumeney, Gary (Connie) Dumeney, Dianne Dumeney Morris, Mark Dumeney, and Daniel Dumeney; son-in-law Scott Binegar 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; siblings: Harold (Anise) Sawyer, and Rosellen Hammel; brother-in-law Terry Steadim; step-grandchildren: Kimberly (Binegar) Lowe, and Jonathan Binegar; and 4 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Dumeney, in 1984; her second husband, Dale Binegar, in 2018; one son Michael Dumeney; siblings: William (Virginia) Sawyer, Robert (Lucy) Sawyer, Richard (Shirley) Sawyer, Barbara (Don) Keller, Grace (Clint) Lingerfelt, John (Mary) Sawyer, Martha Steadim, David (Judy) Sawyer; a daughter-in-law Connie Dumeney; a brother-in-law Ray Hammel; and a step-grandchild Steve Binegar, Jr.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Entombment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 3^rd at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
