Bethany Ann Murphy
Born May 17, 1967, in Lansing, Michigan, daughter of Richard C. Wood, Sr. and the late Leola M. (Roberts) Wood, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at age 55.
Bethany is survived by her husband of 20 years, Terry Murphy, Sr.; 5 children, Cara (Josh Prether) Plunkett, Savannah (Matt McLouth) Johnson, Pamela (Chad Antcliff) Murphy, Kristi Murphy, and Terry (Lele) Murphy, Jr.; 8 grandchildren; her father, Richard C. (Barbara) Wood, Sr.; 2 brothers, Richard (Pam) Wood, Jr., and Brandon (Ashley) Wood along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
In addition to her mother, Bethany was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Wood.
Bethany was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt and will be remembered for her huge heart, being an avid animal lover, and her “animal shelter” that she ran.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Her family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday for 1 hour prior to the service.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in memory of Bethany, to the Capital Area Humane Society or the ASPCA.

February 24, 2023 at 4:36 pmBeth really was a wonderful person. I knew her from working at Kroger in Holt. My first week as a cashier, Beth needed to trade shifts with someone and nobody offered except me. We became good friends after that. This just goes to show, that God only takes the BEST. We will see her again when our time is up. Rest in peace Bethany Ann Murphy.
