Bernard E. Frederickson, Jr.

Bernard E. Frederickson, Jr. of Lansing, MI, passed away in his sleep on January 3, 2022, at the age of 74, of natural causes.

He was affectionately referred to as Bernie by his family. Family was very important to him. He was always looking forward to spending the holidays and his birthdays with them. There was nothing he enjoyed more than drinking a big cup of coffee with his family; especially if it was in a big green cup. Bernie will be sorely missed by his family during these times.

One of Bernie’s favorite things to do was listening to church music. He also enjoyed making special art projects for his family and friends. During his younger years he attended Wood Haven Center then Beekman Center until he graduated into various work-related programs designed for the mentally challenged. He also enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Frederickson (Masie); his brother, Jeffrey (Dawn) Frederickson; his sister, Dawn Green; his brother, Frederic (Catherine) Frederickson; several nephews: Matthew Green, Alex Green, Joshua Green, James B. Green, Frederic Frederickson, and Hunter Frederickson; one niece, Molly Luks (Kyle); and several great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Bernard E. Frederickson, Sr.

Not only did Bernie have several Greens in his family, green was also his favorite color. He wanted all his clothes to be the color green.

Bernie will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.  Interment will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m.
