Evangelist Teacher Berline Williams

Age 89, of Lansing, MI, was born December 19, 1929, in Inverness, Mississippi, to parents John Dillard and Carrie Young. Berline moved to Lansing, MI, with her husband and children on November 2, 1974. For the last two years she was cared for by her daughter, Mary Wilhite. She was called home July 29, 2019, in Lansing, MI, at the St. Lawrence Hospice House.

Berline was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Williams Sr.; three children, Joseph Williams Jr., Delma Ann Hutchinson, and Earlean Whitehead; and two grandchildren, Tommy Lee Williams and Lawanda Jones.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: seven children, Mary Wilhite (Lovie), Corrine Moore (David), Levi Williams, Jerry Williams (Barbara), Irene Williams, Ivory Jenkins (Anthony), and Jo Anne Williams; her two honorary children, Toshia Clark and Demohn Stanley; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; special friends, Pat Hawkins, Annie Phillips, Rev. Willie and Sharon Mills, Robert Candies (Roscoe), and Barbara Filmore; and many friendships at her churches and previous home in Colonial Woods.

Berline was a devout Christian who enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, cooking, spending time with family, tending to her garden and going to garage sales. She served as a minister at Shiloah Missionary Baptist Church and previously Mt. Olive Baptist Church. As a minister Berline loved spreading the word of God to the masses and delivering strong messages of faith.

Berline was beloved in her community as she would lend a helping hand to anyone at any time. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

The funeral service for Evangelist Teacher Berline Williams will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2019 at the North Westminster Presbyterian Church, 743 N. Martin Luther King Jr., Blvd, Lansing, Michigan 48915. There will be a family hour at the church on Monday from 10:00 until service time.
