Barbara W. Holliday

Age 74, of Dimondale, MI, passed away January 26, 2017. She was born July 29, 1942, in St. Louis, MO, to James and Jeanne Blair.

Barbara graduated from Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, MO and from Lansing Business University. She retired from the Lansing Police Department in 1995 after 20 years as a dispatcher. She volunteered with the Salvation Army for years, was an avid quilter, and was a member of the Sugar Springs Sugar Babes. She was also a member of River’s Edge Community Church in Lansing.

She is survived by her children, Heloise Lindberg of Boulder, CO, and Eric (Noelene Rose) Lindberg of Sydney, Australia; stepchildren, Jeffrey (Sherry) Holliday of Laingsburg, Debra (Mike) Kain of East Lansing, Bruce (Marcia) Holliday of Dimondale, John (Margaret) Holliday of Charlotte; her “adopted family,” Bexhet (Ardiana) Sejdiu; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Peter Blair of New Orleans, LA; and 1 niece and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jay W. Blair, and husband Mark Holliday.

Barbara’s family would like to thank Deb Somervill for adopting her loving pets, Sammy, Hooch, Tommy and Josie.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos. Her family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or Youth for Christ.
