Barbara Jean Jenkins
Age 86, of Holt, MI, joined her Heavenly Father on May 31, 2017. She was born September 6, 1930, in Holt, to the late Otto and Evelyn (Kirshman) Dawson.
Surviving are her children, Linda (Douglas) Felzke, Bonnie Bozen, Cindy (Howard) Hundley, Jeffrey (Barb) Jenkins, and Susan (Michael) Lewis; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; one brother, Richard Dawson; two sisters, Mary (Bob) Farr, Marilyn (James) Sisco; and sister-in-law, Lou Dawson. Preceded in death by her husband, Buford C. Jenkins who passed in 1998; sister, Shirley (Larry) Riley; brother, Russell Dawson; sister-in-law, Sue Dawson; and great-grandson, Blake Hundley.
She was a loving mother and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor who enjoyed crocheting and reading.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-5 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sparrow Home Hospice. Thank you for your kind words about Mom. I know you understand exactly what our family is going through. I still miss Aunt Shirley and mom missed her too. The peace lily was a beautiful tribute. Cindy took it back to Kentucky with her. It will be a cherished memory of our mom.
