Barbara J. Jackson
Age 82, of DeWitt, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2015, after a long illness. She was born in Lansing, Michigan on November 23, 1932, to Lewis and Grace (Relf) Wicks.
“Barb” graduated from Sexton High School, married and raised a family of five. She was later self-employed, handling ticket sales for events at the Lansing Civic Center. All who knew her will miss her upbeat personality, generosity, and warm smile.
Being a “people person” enriched her trips across the U.S. and abroad. As family meant the most to her, she was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Wicks. Cherishing her memory are her children: Judy (Kent) Armstrong, Robert Jackson, Susan (Ralph) Davis, Karen (Irwin) Graham, Stephen (Lisa) Jackson; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jackie Wicks; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Farms Baptist Church, 1141 E. State Rd., Lansing, with the Rev. Dave Leisman officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 13, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw, Lansing, MI.
Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Ingham County Medical Care Facility in Okemos.
