Barbara J. (Giese) Smith

Born February 8, 1949, Reed City, MI. Barbara’s spirit was set free from cancer on September 12, 2010, to take residence with her Lord and Savior. A member of Sycamore Creek Church, she grew up in Lansing, MI, and graduated from Eastern High School in 1967.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith G. Smith; both parents; 1 brother and 1 sister. Surviving are: 3 daughters, 3 sons, 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are: 5 brothers, 3 sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, with Pastor Tom Arthur officiating. Interment will take place in Sowle Cemetery, Maple Rapids, MI. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, American Cancer Society, or Sycamore Creek Church.
