Shortly after college, Barbara married Arthur “Art” Faussett on November 28, 1952; and they lived in the Holt and South Lansing area until Art’s passing in 2013. Together they raised 3 children, Debra Miller, Theresa (Brent) Field and Gary (Karen) Faussett. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren John (Amelia) Miller, Katie Field, Ashlee (Eric) Fountain and Joshua Faussett, great-granddaughter Breslynn Fountain, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Some of Barbara’s greatest joys were her love and passion for her grandchildren, and singing in the choir with her husband on Sundays at Christ United Methodist Church, where they were founding members.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents, husband Art, and two sisters, Nadine Thomas and Gloria Luce.

The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 West Washtenaw St. Her family will receive friends beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

As a former teacher, education was dear to Barbara’s heart.  Therefore, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory are invited to consider a memorial donation to:  First United Methodist Church, Cumberland School Fund.  All donations will go toward an extensive clothing closet and classroom supplies for Preschool through Third Grade.
