Arvid R. Rehkopf
Age 99, passed away April 1, 2018. He was born April 6, 1918, in Lansing to Jesse and Anna Rehkopf.
Arvid graduated from Holt High School in 1937, was a co-owner of Holt Dairy from 1947 to 1970, and retired from Heatherwood Farms in 1980. He served in World War II as a staff sergeant in the Army. He played softball, golfed, bowled, loved to garden and fish, and was an avid fan of the Spartans and the Tigers.
Arvid was predeceased by his wife, Katherine; his parents; brothers, Chester, Elmer, and Robert; and sister, Eleanor. He is survived by his children, David (Stephanie) Carver Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, Patricia (Philip) Everett of Williamston, MI, and Artie (Marsha Bergreen) Rehkopf of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren: Jack (Janet) Carver of Valencia, CA, Melanie (Greg) Sweeney of Virginia Beach, VA, Jason Wilson of Lansing, MI, Chaya (Nick) Gioia of Catonsville, MD, and Brent (Dayna) Wilson of Howell, MI; and great-grandchildren: Jake, Justin, Kiryn, Amelia, Jane, Madelynn and Isabella.
The family wishes to express their thanks for the loving care he received from the caregivers at Grandhaven Living Center and the nursing staff of Residential Hospice.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing, with Pastor Paul Lindloff officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. His family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church or to a charitable organization of their choice. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
