Arnold F. Block

Age 97, our dearly loved father and grandfather Arnold F. Block was called home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2014. He was born May 4, 1917 in Lansing, MI.

Arnold was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jane, his parents Emil and Eda Block and brothers Duane and Kenneth. Surviving are his daughter Jane, son Jim (Ellen), grandchildren Johnny, Jason and Allison, and several nieces and nephews.

Arnold proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired as an accountant from Oldsmobile after 33 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Arnold enjoyed traveling and entertaining his family and friends at Horsehead Lake.

He was devoted to family and a true gentleman. We will always cherish his memory and the way he lived his life with love, strength, honesty and integrity. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Evergreen cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
