Arlene Claire (Baum) Eskes

Age 89, of Holt, died December 16, 2012. Arlene was born July 26, 1923 in Holt the daughter of Harry and Mabel (Watters) Baum.

She was a graduate of Holt High School. She was a member of Holt United Methodist Church since 1939, served as church librarian as well as other volunteer opportunities.  She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, where she was a Past Noble Grand and Past Grand Matriarch of Grand Encampment Auxiliary, and she earned the highest award from the Michigan Visual research committee.  She was a member of the Holt Garden Club, Inter-City Council of Federated Garden Clubs, and the Holt Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart M. Eskes, in 1991; her parents; and son-in-law, Robert A. Peterson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay Elizabeth and Michael Oligney; two grandchildren, Melissa (Tom) Roudabush and Justin (Stephanie) Peterson; and great-granddaughters, Sarah and Jenna Roudabush.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at Holt United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph D. Huston officiating.  Visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holt United Methodist Church or Hospice of Michigan.
