Ann-Mary was born April 3, 1941, to Robert and Louise Newland in Flint, Michigan. She passed away on May 31, 2013, following a short battle with cancer. She was currently of Haslett, MI.
Ann loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed doing handicrafts: knitting, crocheting and plastic canvas. She also liked playing darts and met her husband Richard while playing at a dart tournament at Moriarty’s Pub in Lansing in 1985. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Richard; sons, Michael Nellett of Vassar and Matthew Nellett of Flint; sister, Judie Basco of Owosso; stepdaughter, Diana Hershberger of Lubeck, Germany; brother, Robert Newland of North Carolina; and grandchildren, Kenneth and Kaitlyn of Burton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Kenneth Nellett, and her brother David Newland.
There will be no services. All arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. She is to be cremated and her cremains will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
