Born October 16, 1961 in Laventille, Trinidad & Tobago son of the late Joseph and Ica (Roberts) John, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at the age of 64.
In his younger years Andrew worked in Maintenance for MSU following that he worked at Peckham industries as a janitor.
Andrew’s passion was talking to people, he absolutely loved to make a connection, a trait that came in very handy during the holidays, as he also worked as a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army for 20+ years.
Andrew and Trina Christian shared 2 beautiful children, Rhonda Christian and Javon Christian. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ah’Nyia Oglesby, Justyce Douglas and Christian Douglas, siblings, Leonora (Alec) Aaron, Lucy Solomon, Ian Davis, Claudia John, and Janice (Floyd) Clarke; nieces and nephews, Chima Okeke, Malcolm Jones, Tammara Solomon, Donald Solomon, Jamal Solomon, Ian Davis, Jr., Tiffany Davis, Cherie Craft, Marlon Davis, Mia Davis, Ria Davis, Anika Woodley, Aleisha Woodley, Aniya John, Antonio Valve, and along with a host of extended family members and friends.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents and Trina, the mother of his children.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday January 31, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church of Lansing, 510 W. Ottawa St., Lansing, MI 48933. The family will receive friends at the Church on Saturday January 31,2026 for one hour prior to the service.

January 28, 2026 at 8:24 amI went to school with Andrew. We crossed paths occasionally over the years. I always enjoyed talking to him while he was bell ringing. always smiling, laughing and a story to tell. RIP my friend. Condolences to the family.
