Judge Friedlis was a fair and honest Administrative Law Judge, who treated all those who came before him with an equal hand. My clients and I have been honored to have had him sit as the ALJ on our cases. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Andre was a good friend and a great contributor to my Saturday classes for the years I was rabbi at Shaarey Zedek.

My sympathies to Judy, Leah and Jeremy. His humor, intelligence and humanity will be missed.

Andre was not only a dedicated attorney and administrative law judge for the state of Michigan, but also a devoted member, and past President and Board member, of the Association of State Employees in Management (ASEM), an organization that looked to protect and expand the rights of non-exclusively represented employees in state government. Andre was very committed to ASEM and was a tireless leader in expanding the membership of this vital association. His experience and guidance will be greatly missed by all ASEM members.

Andre was my grandfather, I was his granddaughter and he was the best to me. it was a shame I couldn’t go to his funeral but I do miss him. To this day I don’t know how he would have reacted to my transition.
