The moment I discovered my aunt was living, I reached out to my father’s family, bridging a silence that had stretched across nearly twenty-five years. That single connection sparked a beautiful season of reunions, allowing them to cherish one another’s company until my father’s passing in 1999. Aunt Alice was a pillar of strength during those final moments, standing faithfully by our side as he took his last breath.
Now, just over twenty-five years since they last saw each other in human form, they are reunited once again in heaven. Aunt Alice loved our family deeply, looking past our brokenness, and I know she never stopped praying for us.
It is no coincidence that she passed on Good Friday. As a woman of profound Christian faith, I am convinced that God called her home within the very hour we mourn the death of Jesus. I believe that sacred honor was the very first of her heavenly gifts. Rest in God. Love, Mark

She was our babysitter back in the 1980’s. Wonderful God loving woman. She will be greatly missed.
