Alfred Dayton "Freddie" White
Alfred Dayton “Freddie” White was a remarkable young man who touched the lives of many people throughout his 18 years. He was born on February 16, 1996 in Lansing, MI and passed away peacefully on August 11, 2014 surrounded by his family. His life was cut short as a result of a vehicle accident. He was currently of Holt, MI.
Alfred was beloved for his sense of fun. His friends and family enjoyed teasing Alfred and being teased by him. His smile and laughter were contagious. Freddie was a highly regarded discus thrower, shot putter and football player at Holt High School, Class of 2014, where he won the Student Athlete of the Month Award and the Ironman Award. In addition to his strength, Alfred had a softer side. He was kind and nurturing. Friends felt welcome and safe in his home. Freddie also loved nature and animals. He was planning on attending Ferris State University in the fall and majoring in criminal justice. Alfred will always be remembered for his energy and exuberance. He brought a bright ray of light into this world.
Alfred leaves behind a large and loving family including his beloved mother, Nancy Dayton, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and pets. He also leaves behind many friends including his girlfriend, Kayla.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the exceptional care from the doctors, nurses and staff of Sparrow Hospital PICU.
A memorial gathering will be held Friday, August 15, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a short program beginning at 4:30 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church of Holt in their Fellowship Hall. August 13, 2014 at 6:57 pmMy fondest memory of Alfred was when he played soccer with Peter and they found out that they both loved Civil War stuff and that is how they struck up a friendship. Alfred was so kind and polite and a genuinely nice young man. My heart goes out to Nancy and the entire family. Thoughts and prayers,

The family who will never know you now will forever feel a regrettable loss and sense of sadness.
