Alexander Vincent Piersante-Horn

Alexander Vincent Piersante-Horn, 34, of Traverse City, MI, passed away on July 31, 2026.  Alex is survived by his mother, Tori Piersante, brother, Mitchell Piersante-Horn, his father, Richard Horn, four uncles, seven aunts, twelve cousins and many extended family members.

Alex lived a life defined by laughter, loyalty, and a heart that was always open to others. For 34 years, he brought an infectious energy and great humor into every room he entered.  If you were fortunate enough to know Alex—and especially if you were a friend—you knew someone who would stand beside you, make you laugh when you needed it most, and leave every conversation a little brighter than he found it.  From lifelong childhood friends to those he met later in life, Alex had a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for.

Alex had a keen curiosity resulting in perpetual learning and his ability to be a wonderful conversationalist on many subjects.  He had a love of adventure and was always up for discovering new places especially in Utah, Arizona, California, Florida, Turkey, and many other places. He was an accomplished snowboarder and was a ski instructor at Snowbird Ski Resort in Salt Lake City, Utah, a job he considered the best he ever had.  He was a lifelong fan of MSU athletics and Formula One racing.

Above all else, Alex was a beloved son, brother, family member, and friend. He shared a lifetime of memories, dreams, challenges, and celebrations with those closest to him.  No words can truly capture the measure of a life so deeply loved, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.

Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vincent & Joan Piersante, Richard & Evelyn Horn, and cousins Brent Jordan Kalahiki and Natalie Emmons.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour St., Lansing, MI 48933.  Interment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing, on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 p.m.  The family will also be receiving friends at the Church on Tuesday for 1 hour prior to the Mass.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Lansing District Council.  They hold a special place in our family as Alex’s grandfather, Vincent, devoted years of his life to volunteering for them.
