Alan Wayne Barrett

Age 74, of Lansing, MI, passed away December 26, 2023. He was born May 6, 1949, in Lansing, MI, to Garth and Joyce Barrett.

Alan served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and became an electrician where he worked on residential construction.

He is survived by his three children, Teri (Steve) Totten, Brooke (Ken) Peiffer-Orlich, and Ryan (Christine) Barrett; grandchildren, Tawni (Matt) Faust, Ayriel Totten, Taylor (Kolby) Casaday, Gabriel Peiffer, and Dante Barrett; great-grandchildren, Parker, Paisley, Piper, and Charlie; sisters, Judy Haist, and Dyan (Vern) Griswold; several cousins; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Joyce and Paul Travis.

We are grateful for the care and compassion that Alan received from his sister Judy and his cousins, Ruthie and Sandra, who helped with his care.

There will be no service. Private inurnment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to City Church, 6228 Bishop Rd., Lansing, MI 48911, in his memory. Arrangements by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

My wife and I were neighbors with Al in Kansas for several years and we had a great friendship with him. Taught me quite a few things about “old school ” electric techniques. We are very sorry for your loss and we were grateful to have known such a great guy.
