August 29, 2022 at 10:43 amI served as a feeder operator under Al at Speaker, Hines and Thomas starting in May of 1966, learned a lot from Al throughout the many years we worked together. I fondly remember his nickname in the press room which was Nuggy, because he would work all available overtime and his pockets were rumored to be filled with gold nuggets. So rest in peace my friend.

August 30, 2022 at 11:24 pmAl and I became friends when we both lived in North Lansing. That was in 1949. We enjoyed early years of cruising in Lansing in his ’46 Mercury and went on as friends as we both married and worked in the printing trade. Lots of good memories. Al has passed but the memories will remain with me through my years.

My brothers Dale and Gene were nearly life long friends w him, and that’s my only connection.
