Adolph Norman Nitschke, Jr.

Born July 8, 1927 in Bay City, Michigan, son of the late Adolph, Sr. and Gertrude Nitschke, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020, at age 93.

Survivors include: his wife of over 60 years, Virginia Nitschke; daughters, Colleen (Todd) Yantz and Michele (Patrick) O’Brien; grandchildren, Shannon Walker, Valorie (Tony) May, Sean O’Brien, and Matt (Jozie) O’Brien along with many nieces and nephews.

Adolph was preceded in death by his brother Alfred and his sister Harriett.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and retired from Oldsmobile with over 40 years of service.  Adolph was a life member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lansing and built his own home in Bath that he resided in until his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Emanuel First Lutheran Church, 1001 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing with Pastor Paul J. Lindloff officiating.  The family will receive friends at the Church on Thursday for one hour prior to the funeral. Burial with Military Honors will take place at Rose Cemetery in Bath.

Those who wish may make a memorial contribution, in loving memory of Adolph, to the family c/o his daughter, Colleen Yantz, 6127 Haag Rd., Lansing, MI 48911.

Virginia, Colleen and Michelle, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families . I have so many fond memories of family reunions at East Lansing Park. Curly and you Virginia visiting with my mother Evelyn and my dad Martin. Colleen and Michelle we played together as kids. I remember Curly as such a pleasant person. Such an infectious smile.
