J. Elaine Campbell

Dimondale, Michigan

Born February 23, 1935, in Lansing, Michigan, daughter of the late John and Genevive (Cooley) Pollock passed away Friday, August 4, 2023, at age 88.

Elaine is survived by her 2 sons, Larry (Cheryl) Campbell and Michael “Jay” Campbell; 4 grandchildren, Jason (Kat) Campbell, Sieralyn (Brandon) Lovely, Sarah Campbell, and Jennifer Campbell; great-grandchildren, Landon, Jesse, and Alexis along with 2 nephews and a niece.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Campbell and her brother, John “Ray” Pollock.

Elaine graduated from Lansing Eastern High School and retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company, where she worked as an operator.  She was a devout Christian and former member of South Church of Lansing.  Elaine enjoyed taking walks, riding bikes, camping, football, and the changing of the colors in the fall.  She also loved cats, hummingbirds, and all things Lavender.  More than anything she loved time spent with, and taking care of, her family.

Visitation will be held at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 and 4:00-7:00 p.m.  Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 N. Cedar St. in Holt.  Interment will follow at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos.

We sometimes delivered Meals on Wheels to Elaine. She was a lovely person even when dealing with severe health issues. She was a favorite on our route.
