When Delaine first came to Independence Village, she was a breath of fresh air. She had a sparkle in her eye. She donated her wonderful grand piano and she was so proud. We all enjoyed listening to her play. She instantly became one of my favorite residents. It is always so very sad to lose someone you love so much, but the memories you make with them last forever and that Love never ends, and the memories you make last forever. She is someone I will Love forever and never forget. I miss her so much already. All my Prayers to her entire family.

When Delaine moved into Independence Village, my mom recognized her from the past.
They had common friends in Joy and Jerry Cushman. Delaine actually moved into my parents apartment when my mother moved into the enhanced area. My mom and I would meet with her on Wednesdays for “Happy Hour”. My mom always enjoyed spending time with her. Once I showed her how to get to my mom’s apartment and she stayed and visited for a while. It brought tears to my eyes to listen to the two of them talk. They truly enjoyed each others company. We lost my dad in April. Delaine was wonderful helping my mom with her grief. She would always smile when we saw her. We are so sorry for your loss and your family will be in our prayers. Delaine was a wonderful table mate for dinner each evening. Her gentle and ready smile and warm ways made the meal an occasion to look forward to every day. I will miss her terribly and send love and wishes for comfort to her family. You will be in my prayers.

Delaine was my piano teacher for eight years. Under her tutelage, I gained skills that have provided me with many, many years of enjoyable musical experiences. It is a profound gift that she shared with so many people during her lifetime. Thank you Delaine!
