David L. Carey

On June 29, 2024, David L. Carey began his life eternal, the fourth born of Aaron E. Carey and Evelyn (Taylor) Carey, on August 14, 1946, at home in Lockport, Illinois.  Survived by his wife, Sandy Carey; and beloved children, Katie (Steve) Secor, Shawn (Michaela) Carey and Brenna (Jeremiah) Carter; granddaughters, Kailey, Maeve and Kailee; grandsons, Jacob and Isaac; brothers, Dennis and Robert.  He was preceded in death by his parents, along with several brothers and sisters.  He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1970 in Vietnam.  Dave loved hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and being in his “happy place,” in northern Wisconsin.

A memorial service with military funeral honors will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Immanuel Community Reformed Church, 3200 Delta River Drive, Lansing.  His family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, or to Immanuel Community Reformed Church at https://www.icrclansing.org/give in memory of David Carey.
