The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Holt United Methodist Church. Interment will take place at 12:00 p.m. at Deepdale Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Age 79 of Lansing, formerly of New Jersey, passed away, January 4, 2025 in Lansing. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Celebration of life service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday and beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to her favorite charities: the ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center, WKAR Public Television and Radio, The Spartan Marching Band Fan Club, or to any local library or food pantry.
Plans are pending for a gathering in the Lansing area in his honor, likely to be in May 2025 in celebration of what would be his 100th birthday. Donations in memory of Al may be made to the W. Albert Hakala Scholarship Fund at Northern Michigan University.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church Restoration Fund.
A celebration of Samantha’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, with visitation starting at 6:00 p.m. where friends and family can come together to share stories and memories of a life lived with passion, purpose, and love for her family and the equestrian world. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Horses’ Haven in Howell, Michigan.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2025, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, where his family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Maple Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice.

Sharron will be laid to rest at DeepDale Memorial Gardens following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Holt Food Bank.
