Bruce Douglas Ely passed peacefully in his sleep during the early hours on July 4, 2017. He survived with the help, care, support and love of his son Aaron Ely and Daughter-In-Law Ellen Ely; his daughter Trisha Penner; Grandchildren-Delaney Bateman, Cindy and Samantha Ely; Sister Andrea and her husband Tom and their family; and Life time friends/Brothers-David Houghton and Bob Lundburg. Throughout his life, Bruce lived LARGE! Living his life with the thrill of his motorcycle rides and the many adventures he took. He also shared his love with his family and special grandchildren who called him “vroom-vroom Papa.”

Throughout his life, Bruce never failed to not only capture memories but to capture pictures of all the beauty he saw in life whether that be the people around him, race cars at the race track or the many places he traveled to. He never failed to meet others where he went and was deeply cherished and loved by so many people.

Our family’s gratitude to Dr. Berry Saltman and Dr. Shaffer with TCI (Thoracic Cardiovascular Institute) for many year of continuous care.
