Betty J. Leadbitter

Age 87, passed away December 5, 2023. She was born January 12, 1936, in Lansing, MI, to the late Lawrence and Alice (Goodrich) Medler.

Betty married the love of her life, Robert G. Leadbitter on April 4, 1953, and he preceded her in death after 69 years of marriage.  She loved spending time with family and friends.  Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Betty enjoyed camping at Thornapple Lake, traveling with Robert on bus trips to various places, especially casinos, and she was the number one Elvis fan! Betty will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving family: son, Ronald (Debbie) Leadbitter; daughter, Beckie (Phil) Wright; adopted daughter, Jill (Gordie) LaMacchia; 5 grandkids; 9 great-grandkids; several nieces and nephews; and special dear friends, Ken (Patty) Carter and Patsy Glossop.

Betty’s family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to both the staff of Craft Care Home in Mason, and the staff of Care Team Hospice.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Dear Beckie and Phil, Debbie and Ron,
May God comfort you in the loss of your mom. Betty was a vibrant and kind lady who spread happiness wherever she went. I miss her smile, and I miss her. She was a wonderful sister-in-law, and I am blessed to have known her.
Love, Carol

Such a beautiful and sweet lady with always a smile on her face. Even though I only was present for a short time in her life, it was a joy to see the love that her and Bob shared. My thoughts and prayers are with you all!
