Judy I. (Larner) Mattson

Judy I. (Larner) Mattson went home to be with the Lord at age 83, on August 16, 2026, in Okemos, Michigan.  She was born on February 3, 1943, to Murrel and Ruby Larner.

Judy was a devoted Christian and loved Jesus. Judy was well known for the amazing breakfasts she made and being the queen of containers & gadgets.  She appreciated Popeye’s chicken, Kroger’s banana popsicles, fried green tomatoes and the art of a good prank. She enjoyed thrifting and going to garage sales, as she could never pass up a good bargain.  Judy spent a lot of her time chatting on the phone and watching the birds.  She loved anything sparkly, jewelry, playing cards and painting, but more than anything, Judy loved spending quality time with her family.

Judy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ronald Mattson; children, Rhonda (John) Lienhart, Julie (Nathan) Sworden, and Kimberly (Steven) Hills; siblings, Bonnie Gregory and Rocky (Marcia) Larner; grandchildren, Loren, James, Rebecca, Jacob, Brandon, Joshua, Corbin, Daniel, Cole and Allison, and great-grandchildren, Lilyanna, Charlotte, Brayden, Kaidence, Brynlee, Briella, Kaden, Ruby, Cooper, Harper and Emberly as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Merlene.

The funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM, Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 N. Cedar St., Holt, MI 48842. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
