Carol Marie Solomon

Carol Solomon, from Dimondale, MI, went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 26, 2026.  The daughter of Harold Miller and Virginia (Ballard) Miller, Carol was born November 25, 1942, in the small town of Addison, MI. She grew up in the Irish Hills area of Somerset Center outside of Jackson attending a one-room schoolhouse until her family moved to Albion where she graduated from High School.

Carol’s relatives still with us include her husband of 62 years, Mack B. Solomon II; two brothers and their wives: Jerry and Sue Miller, and Ken and Julie Miller; two sons and their wives: Mack and Ann Solomon, and Ken and Lisa Solomon; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 more great-grandchildren due by mid-summer. Carol’s love, attention, and prayers flowed endlessly to every one of her family.

Prior to graduation from High School, Carol met her future lifelong partner at an outdoor dance pavilion on the shores of Lake Wixom. Carol obtained her degree in Education from WMU in June of 1964 and Mack and Carol were married July 11, 1964. After they married Carol became a teacher until her first son was born when she decided to dedicate herself to her family, home, and church for the rest of her life.

God and her Church family were the foundation of Carol’s life as a lifelong volunteer and teacher. The seeds of her Faith and love were spread wide and have grown deep. Carol taught Jr Church for eight years, and starting in the mid 1980’s Carol and Mack co-taught a Sunday School class for 15 years. 50 years later, many of the first students are now involved sharing their faith today in no small part to the way Carol let the Holy Spirit work through her. The impact she left on her own family was no different and those seeds will spread to each generation after.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026, at South Church of the Nazarene, 401 W. Holmes Rd., Lansing, MI 48910. Her family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church.

Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

May I offer my condolences to the Miller family. The last time I saw Carol she was moving away to college and called me over to collect some of her stuffed animals….I was 5 years old.
I have fond memories….remembering when Jerry was going away and I begged him to please come push me on the swing one more time…that was a long time ago maybe 1961.
Never forgetting Carols kind ways……Sylvia (Becky) Lutzka

I met Carol shortly after being hired by her husband at Delta Dental, back in 1976. They had my family over to their house in Holt. She was such a lovely lady. I will always remember her kindness.
