Carolyn Emily (Dove) Gillespie

Age 80, died peacefully on Sunday, October 31, 2010, surrounded by her family.

She was born to Frank J. and Carrie B. Dove and raised in Jackson, Michigan.

Carolyn devoted herself to a career in social work for the State of Michigan. After receiving her Master of Social Work degree, she went on to serve as the Administrative Assistant to several Field Services administrators in the Department of Social Services.

She loved travel for its own sake, which allowed her to experience her special interests: animals in their natural habitat and visiting museums of fine art. She also loved to read.

Her tenacity and zest for life will be missed by all who know her, but especially by her family. She is survived by her life partner, David Rouse, her children, Michael (Valoree) Wright, Carrie (David) Morton, Kimberly (Kevin) Stahl and Samuel Gillespie, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life is being planned for a later date.
