Mamie M. Smith

Age 62, of Lansing, passed away September 16, 2010. She was born on March 5, 1948 in Humboldt, TN the daughter of Horace and Frances (Davison) DeBerry.

Mamie worked at Happy Elephant Day Care for over 10 years and was a member of Original Church of God of Lansing.

Surviving are her husband of 40 years, William Smith; children, Theresa Smith, Phoebe Thompson, Peabo Smith and Matthew Smith; 5 grandchildren; 5 brothers and 1 sister; her mother, Frances DeBerry; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father Horace DeBerry.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Original Church of God of Lansing, 3500 S. Pennsylvania, with Elder Albert L. Kelley, Jr., Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
